Seven steps for queen elizabeth cake:
Boil one cup of chopped dates for one minute, and allow to cool.
Cream 1 cup sugar, 0.25 cups of butter, and one egg.
Slowly mix in dates, 1.5 cups of pastry flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 cup of water, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
Spread in 10" round pan, and bake at 350(F) for 25-45 minutes.
Mix 0.5 cups of brown sugar, 2 Tbsp cream, 5 Tbsp butter, 0.75 cups of shredded coconut (unsweetened) and boil for 2-3 minutes.
Spread on cake and bake for a further 5-10 minutes.
Let it sit covered overnight and it just gets better!
