Long Weekend Excitement

That's right there's excitement a foot, not quite a shindig but just maybe a touch of hoot with a wee bit of nanny.   My bra is off, tea is made, and I don't have to see that building until Tuesday morning.  Sweet deal huh?  It's not that I hate my job, I don't really.  I just you know, hate not being independently wealthy.  Well that and when I pull into the parking lot and see the large factory standing in all it's glory... not on fire... I weep a little on the inside.

So here I am enjoying a long weekend, pretty much naked and ordering stuff online.  This is the high life baby.  Might not even wear shoes tomorrow.  Cause with all this almost naked sex appeal just dancing around me like a living flame; who needs shoes!  The Pirate for his part is dressed and looking as ruggedly handsome as ever.  To this point I would have sworn that there is little mystery between us and yet today I found that to be untrue.

My ruggedly handsome and very adult man, says yabba dabba do when he sneezes.  I'm not sure if he's taken to speaking in tongues or if he's just got some sort of aneurysm that I've been unaware of.  I may have to head out to webMD to diagnose him.  Though I figure if he makes it through the night, it's probably just a mild case of Hanna BarBera possession.

In Looking Back

I remember when we first met. I remember when we first laid eyes upon one another. Hesitation, interest, intent, humor, and desire came together into a dance of unique intimacy. From silence to Bacchus like moments, dreams both secret and unrealized have come to light. A standard of authenticity, transparency, and communication are our ties that bind.

If this is to be our illness, may we never recover.

No Rest For The Wicked

No truer words were ever spoke.  House guests can be/are great.  Seeing those we haven't been allotted as much time with in the past as we'd have liked is wonderful, knowing they enjoy coming to stay and feel "at home" is also wonderful.  There are moments however when there happens to be one that tests your resolve.  Tries your patience, and makes that vein above your eye twitch.

Two days of them and I'm done.  Now let me preface with the fact that I am a night shift worker adjusting to being home and awake with my husband over the holidays.  It's a bit of a rough haul but worth it.  We are also rather quite for the most part.  We like laughter, and music, and are jokers to the core; however we do so without drama.  The guests have yet to manage that particular skill set.  Loud, disruptive (beyond what is expected) and as I am finding, demanding!

The guests seem to enjoy being up all hours of the night, and sleeping all day.  This would not be such an issue if we had more than one spare room.  A room that our one guest is using, while the other two have had to take up residence in the living room.  It's sofa city sweetheart.  Sofa's which remain occupied until 4 in the afternoon.  As such I enjoy sitting upon my bed all day, well between running back and forth making food that the guests then decide 10 minutes before the food is plated to leave and go get fast food.

Let me just reiterate, I.  Am.  Done.

1 year & 7 months

One year and seven months ago I met a man who accepted my past, inspired my future, thus he has a confirmed seat in my presence.

Together he and I can accomplish anything.

Bitchy Betty Crocker

Good gods I need sleep.

I spent all night baking and wandering between rooms.  Insomnia and trying to get rid of the gross feeling from being in a house filled with the aromas of decarbing cannabis.  I'm happy to have it all done now.  I like being able to make the edibles for my loved ones but it takes it toll to be sure of.  I'm pretty sure that out of the 2 and a half pounds of butter I made that I'll yield at least 2 and a quarter at least.  Cookies galore, so everyone will sleep better.

In the next few hours my fermented rice should be ready.  Let's see if the results are as good as last time.

Skinny Peanut Butter and Banana Muffins
2 bananas
1 cup peanut butter
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
Chocolate chips

toss all ingredients into the blender, except chocolate chips.  Blend.  Pour into muffin tin and top with chocolate chips.  I used 6 chips per muffin.  Bake at 400 for 8 mins.  (baking times will vary depending on altitude and ovens.)

DYI Dolly (With smaller boobs)

Cannabutter day.  I began decarboxylating the cannabis, I use a low and slow method, seems to work well for me.  Then the crockpot butter after 30 minutes rest time for the now decarbed herb.  I do 1 oz to 2.5 lbs of butter and 1 cup water.  There are as many ways to make it as there are people, so find what works for you.

**Caveat**  I do not eat, smoke, use cabbabis.  I make the edibles for those I love.  I cannot tell you what it tastes like, I can tell you that it all stinks.  I wear a mask and pray for it to all be over as soon as I start.  Yeah I'm an enigma.

So after that fun it was time to puke them do something for myself.  Fermented rice water was the goal.  It was accomplished.

Fermented Rice Water
1 cup rice washed
1 large mason jar (use what you have on hand.  Just make sure it seals)
strainer
water
essential oil (I use peppermint as it has its own benefits)
***Caveat***
If you have a mold allergy BE VERY CAREFUL
Place washed rice into jar, add whatever essential oil you prefer (or none)
top with water, seal jar or container and place on shelf or counter.
I wait 24 to 48 hours, for fermentation to really activate.  The longer you leave it
the more "Aromatic" it will be.

Because I make mine fairly strong I am able to dilute it a bit with water before using it for my final rinse. I leave it on 30 minutes to overnight depending and then rinse it out of my hair before work.
Fermented rice water hair rinse, due to its low pH and tons of nutrients, makes an excellent conditioner. It brings shine to your hair and helps to keep it strong and healthy.

Naturally fermented rice water contains a similar form of pitera that offers many of the same benefits. It helps to boost cell regeneration, keeping the skin bright and supple. Sourced correctly, rice waters and bran oils also contain linoleic acids, which are fatty acids that offer anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties which help to keep skin soft and supple. Rice bran can also be refined and used as a gentle exfoliator. Not only does this sweep away dead skin cells, but the rich vitamins and minerals in the rice bran help to leave the skin brighter, softer, and more supple than many other exfoliating ingredients.

DYI Rosewater

For the Homemade Rosewater:
1: Remove petals from stems and run them under luke-warm water to remove any leftover residue.
2: Add petals to a large pot and top with enough distilled water to just cover (no more or you’ll dilute your rosewater).
3: Over medium-low heat bring the water to a simmer and cover.
4: Let simmer for 20-30 minutes or until petals have lost their color and are a pale pink.
5: Strain the mixture to separate the petals from the water.
6: Discard petals and place water in a glass jar to store.

Rosewater Toner:
1 Tbsp of rose water to 4 Tbsp water for face toner.

Using 7 rose stems makes around 1.5 litres of rosewater. This seems like a lot but it keeps for a long time in the fridge. Just store in a sealed, glass container until ready to use.

Soft Taco Friday

Dinner with our family tonight was something I was totally looking forward too.  It's been a rough week and the call to gather and laugh was in deep demand.  I'm worried about my Domina, this loss has been a hard hit for her, I want her to see and know in her heart that we can and will help her through this.

Tonight we laughed and allowed the sorrow we feel at Raven's loss, and all of the losses we've had over this year to fade; if only for a moment o allow a little light to seep in and warm us once more.

Baby It's Cold Outside

The snow storm has passed but the hassles, cancellations and delays continue today.  In GTA, Toronto recorded the largest single-day snowfall — which led to school bus cancellations in the Toronto District and Catholic school boards.  Meteorologist Jill Taylor said around 26.4 centimetres of snow was recorded at Pearson International Airport on Monday, breaking the record of 13.4 centimetres set on that date in 2009.  But the last time Toronto had more than 20 centimetres of snow in a single day was 51 years ago — 20.8 centimetres on Jan. 14, 1968.  The GTA, including Toronto, was under a snowfall warning on Monday evening, but that has since been lifted.

The massive snowstorm caused major issues for all public transit, including busses.  Regardless as to your travel methods you'll want to prepare for longer than normal travel times due to the weather.  The northbound lanes of the DVP were shut down for several hours overnight due to poor weather conditions.  It has since reopened.  OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt sa id there were approximately 300 crashes in the past 24 hours in the GTA and surrounding area.  Meteorologists say it will continue to be windy on today with blowing and drifting snow, which I can attest to as I have three foot drifts across my driveway and backyard.. There will be some sunny breaks, but the GTA could get some more flurries late in the afternoon or early evening.  Although the temperature was relatively mild this morning, temperatures will fall to -9 C this afternoon.  The wind chill will be near -30 overnight.

The frigid weather will continue into Wednesday and it will feel like -30 C with the wind.  So bundle up if you have to go out, but if you're one of the lucky ones who can stay in, do so.  Get out those fluffy blankets and watch movies and drink hot tea and coco until spring arrives.

Birthday Wishes

My main bish, Teaesme is another year older today.  For 24 years I've had the distinct honour of watching her grow and become the woman she is today.  From that tiny human that I brought home, to first words, steps, bumps, bruises, tears, and laughter; to the milestones of graduation, and first jobs, heartbreaks, moves, and more.  I couldn't have dreamed up a kinder, more compassionate human being if I had tried.  Each day I hear her laughter and endless taunting jokes I am reminded that while my son is my heart that beats outside of my body; Mattea is my soul rendered visual.

Happy birthday sweetheart, no words can express the love and pride I have for you.

The Nerve

Our Smoochable just told me to “leave this driveway” because I’m “getting on her last nerve.”  I had a few errands to run and a few extra groceries I wanted to get but I cancelled that shit to park my ass home and stay all up in her face for the rest of the day.

I’m not above being spiteful and petty with an attitudinal three year old who doesn’t even pay the rent or offer me foot rubs and was just picking her nose and noshing on those boogers.  Little shit trying to tell me I’m being annoying.

 Hell to the nawz.

She ‘bout to learn who run this mother.

 Her Glama!

No Rest For The Wicked

On the rare occasion that I am actually able to have a nap before work, I do not wake up refreshed or invigorated.  Point of fact, I tend to wake up all asholey and fighty.  That's right, if you're gonna make me nap, best be sure you are ready for the slumbering bitch to come alive and eat your soul.

Sexy Skeletons

It's almost that time of year again; where the ghosts, goblins, and ghouls come out to play.  Which also means that the retail stores are all up in my grill trying to sell me a ton of teeth rotting candy and a fuck-ton of plastic bullshit that'll break before the veil thins completely.  I do however still have a great deal of fun with all the crap while I'm in he stores.

The children like to read me the riot act and say I can be embarrassing this time of year, all because of that one-ish time I set up two skeleton's to make it look like they were fornicating in the Halloween section at Walmart. These are the very same children who would then ask me to take them to Taco Bell because they had coupons. However the tip of the proverbial iceberg was when they told me to change the radio station and turn the volume down so that my “ridiculous music” wouldn't harm their bleeding eardrums any longer.

Exactly just WHO IS THE ADULT HERE? I guess I’ll go ahead and schedule their blood pressure and colonoscopy tests and find a local bocci ball team accepting new members.

Do You Doubt Your Partner?

I am fortunate enough to say, I do not doubt my partner at all.  The one major rule we have is and has always been, complete honesty.  Sometimes it can be  uncomfortable, but it is so worth it and it has made us stronger.  However if you are doubting any part of your relationship or your partner try asking yourself a few or all of these questions.

There are no right or wrong answers, just answers that will give you greater insight.

1. Do you completely trust each other?
2. Do you believe in soul mates, and if so, do you believe you are each other’s?
3. When was the last time you said, “I love you?” If it’s been a while, why?
4. Are you satisfied with the intimacy you share?
5. How often do you laugh together?
6. Do you feel you have made personal sacrifices for your relationship, and have they been reciprocated?
7. When you think of your partner, do you smile?
8. Do you feel threatened when others find your partner attractive, and why?
9. Do you believe your partner is your biggest advocate?
10. How do you feel about your partner’s views on finances?
11. Do you enjoy spending time with your partner’s relatives? Friends?
12. Do either of you dredge up resentments in arguments, and why have you struggled to let them go?
13. How do you feel when your partner arrives home after being away?
14. Is your partner your best friend?
15. Is there a secret you are keeping that if your partner knew, you feel you would lose them?
16. Do you feel that your partner accepts you?
17. When did you realize you had fallen in love, and how do you feel when you think about it?
18. Have you seen each other at your best and worst?
19. Would you ever consider having an affair? Why? Why not?
20. Are you excited about your future together?
21. Do you feel your relationship is a true partnership?
22. When was your last romantic outing?
23. Does it bother you if your partner has friends of the opposite sex, and why?
24. Do you accept each other’s belief systems?
25. When was the last time you talked about your future together, and were you on the same page?
26. Do you feel as if you can communicate without saying a word?
27. What is your happiest memory of your time together? Your worst? Are there more happy memories than unhappy ones?
28. What is a relationship deal breaker for you, and have you overlooked one in this relationship?
29. How do you feel about the last, in-depth conversation you and your partner had?
30. Do you show your love for each other often, and if not, why?

Props

Giving credit when it’s due. Huge props go out to Ty tonight. As I've come to see for myself not only talented he’s exceedingly kind. Meeting Mako as most know is not for the faint of heart or for those without a true love of animals. She’s beyond a handful somedays as any hellhound can be. And let’s be blunt she can be scary AF! She certainly was this evening as she went from 0 to 120 in the blink of an eye and her sights were set on defending her space.

There was no threat to Mako but as those having dealt with red zone dogs, she doesn't perceive things as we do. Ty showed incredible fortitude and didn’t flinch, he completely understood where she was coming from; and why it was that she felt the need to behave like a total menace. That kind of tolerance and compassion is often far too lacking in this world.

So a huge thank you goes out to Tyson from @cashmoremusic This evening Mako and I were gifted with a kindness and understanding that few ever get. You have certainly helped restore some of my faith in humanity. May we one day soon see that logo everywhere. ✌🏼 #Cashmore #CashmoreMusic #subscribe #CashmoreCrew #goals #achievements #youtube#cashmorecrew #subscribe #cashmore #achievements #goals #mako #cashmoremusic #hellhound #youtube

Lugz and Christian Dior Lipstick

So way back in the 90s I had this kid. Where my daughter Tea is my soul rendered visual, GQ is my heart that beats outside of my body. He was and still is one of my biggest touchstones, challenges, and honesty gauges. Thankfully I have children who will call me out on my shit faster than anyone. I raised them to be outspoken, free thinking, society changing little peeps... and doesn’t it friggin piss me off when they do it. 🙈😆. So this awesome highly active kid enters my life and can crawl faster than most people walk, was riding a 2 wheeler by 3yrs old and rarely sat still. Enter timberlands, lugs, baby steel toes just to slow this little lovable shit down! (Not thinking ahead to when they came off at how much faster he’d be🙄) so big bucks spent on the boots, even bigger bucks spent on at the tube of Christian Dior lipstick that was so purple and gorgeous and like a weeks worth of plasma donating to afford... 🖕🏼. So I go and do the dishes only to notice The Quiet... panic, fear, then omfg what have you done dismay and a phone call to his awesome dad with the teary begging of “if you don’t come get him I’m taking him out and we can just try again...” kind of faulty logic. There my son sat using my beautiful tube of brand new very expensive lipstick to completely colour one of his Lugz a stunning shade of rich purple. In that moment I was certain I understood why lions eat their young. Thankfully he still lives and is awesome AF but yeah when he has kids... oh man pure jokes coming his way. 👍🏼😈

No poles at the Inn

Tauntie called to ask how my new job was going and to ask what it was that I actually did at work.  I told her all of the pertinent details and how thus far everyone was quite welcoming.  She being true to herself and wanting me to be far more ladylike insisted that I should really be working something more befitting my womanhood.  I told her that my only other option was either being a stripper or going to work at a hotel as a maid. She drew a breath in sharply at that in shock, and told me how many diseases I could get, or "What if you find a dead body?" and "You would have to clean up other people's excrements!"

I'm not sure which possible job she was referring to...possibly both knowing how her mind works.

The Ultimate Queen

We whom live for the dance, feel a sense of bereftness when that dance must end suddenly.  Yes even should two have danced together for a great many years.  Those years created a unique rhythm, steps that required no such anticipation of the new partner, these steps were always true and led by our hearts.  Today one dance ended so abruptly that I found myself unable to maintain my footing.
